KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

Vice President, Transformation Technologies for Industry 4.0 , Oracle Eric Prevost has 20 years of experience working in digital and business innovation, and transformation strategy roles. His career experience includes senior and executive positions in management and IT strategy at IBM Global Services, Capgemini and Oracle. In Eric’s current role within Oracle’s Industries Solution Group, he leads digital transformation and IOT/Artificial Intelligence/Blockchain initiatives for Manufacturing industries. Prior to this role, Eric was innovation director and head of the business/IT innovation consulting team in the Capgemini Manufacturing business unit. He successfully supported manufacturing companies in their innovative transformation strategy and implementation to the services and pay per use-based business model. He is the co-author of the French Industry 4.0 whitepaper from Syntec Numerique, and authored several papers on BPM and innovation practices for business. Eric is also president of the TRIZ-France innovation association in charge of developing innovation practices in France and worldwide innovation cooperation.

Shiqiang Zhu
Professor Dr. ZHU Shiqiang has been in this position since January 2016. He is responsible for the management of ZJU's Zhoushan Campus and the Ningbo Institute of Technology. He currently also serves as director of the newly founded Zhejiang Lab.
From June 2014 to January 2016, he was assistant president of ZJU and vice dean of the Ocean College. Previously, Dr. ZHU had assumed important positions in several municipal governments of Zhejiang province, including deputy mayor of Cixi (October 2002 – September 2005) and Zhoushan (December 2009 – August 2012).
Dr. ZHU received a bachelor’s degree in Hydraulic Transmission and Control from ZJU in 1988, a master’s degree in Mechanical Manufacturing in 1991 from Beijing Institute of Technology, and a doctor’s degree in Fluid Transmission and Control from ZJU in 1995. Professor ZHU’s expertise is focused on Mechatronic Control.

INTRODUCTION OF OSAKA

Having the first signs of human life and habitation, Osaka is one of the historical cities in the world and it was the first capital of Japan. Osaka has been the gateway to overseas and the center of Japan's economy since ancient times. In recent years, it has been instrumental in adding traction to Japan's economy as a leader of the industrial revolution, and this has produced a large number of major industries and corporations. One of the main feature of Osaka Prefecture's industry is that it is regarded as the Region for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs). SMEs account for approximately 65% of industrial production in Osaka, and many of these claim a large share of the world's markets with their unique home-grown technology.
