WHC 2021 | Nanjing, China
Introduction of WHC-2021
In a single season, the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the world order by affecting all occupations everywhere. As of Middle May, about 5 million people have been confirmed to have the infection, and nearly 313,000 people are known to have died from the COVID-19. Everyone recognizes in one season, that the world will not be the same as before, and everybody pays high attention to global health. Although may decision-makers did not care about global health before, now the situations are changing to a top priority for them because they witness the threat by a coronavirus. Even a school child today knows what happens in Wuhan can profoundly affect the health of Italy, London, New York, Boston, and any city in the world. Everyone understands his or her health is extremely dependent on one at health risk far on the other side of the world. Once pandemics occurs, everyone may loss freedom, and in most case, one has to be locked down, or becomes unemployed, is short of foods and Necessities of life. No therapy and no vaccine is available for COVID-19. People are also overfed by very turmoil information flow, hope and fear, truth and lies all come together. The tough financial time follows on. Once infected, one may not be able to find a single hospital bed, and hard to get PPE for protection, and so on.

Every Nation has learned the hard lesson that trillions dollar economic damage is underway by the pandemics. Both the Government and Business people are now recognizing investing in health is investing in the economy. We all understand that a new global health order will form; we need to rethink about global health on the different national political agenda. The roles of governments in health are becoming increasingly important to avoid loss and save a life. World Health Congress this year aims in calling for universal professional or public attention from as many sectors as possible. We believe in the central topics selected in WHC 2021 may generate a compelling interest for all shareholders. We also hope such a program will provide our colleagues and friends with a farseeing roadmap for the next decade global health, and draw a common blueprint of the new order, a new journey, new development, and new future for all humanity. With the gradually reopening in different continents, we hope a brand new healthier world will recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
