Silk Road Economic Belt
The Silk Road changed the world forever. Trade, Culture and ideas were passed along this route since around 200BC. The Silk Road Economic Belt will bring together Asia and Europe with closer trade and cultural ties.
On Sept. 7, 2013, Chinese President Xi Jinping made a speech at Kazakhstan's Nazarbayev University and proposed to join hands building a Silk Road economic belt with innovative cooperation mode and to make it a grand cause benefiting people in regional countries along the route. The proposed economic belt is inhabited by "close to 3 billion people and represents the biggest market in the world with unparalleled potential", Xi said.
Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed his eagerness to build trade links to Europe along the “New Silk Road" when he visited Duisburg in Germany on March 29th. The Silk Road Economic Belt project which aims to build trade links overland from Western China to Europe is high on the government agenda.
Forum Agenda

Qinling Mountains
Qinling is not only the soul home of Chinese people but also the “Dragon Vein” of Chinese civilization. In terms of geology, Qinling is the geologic boundary of Southern and Northern China as well as the watershed of the two river systems of Yangtze River and Yellow River. In terms of ecology, Qinling is the most important ecological security barrier area, water resource conservation area as well as forest resource distribution area in central part of China.In terms of climate, Qinling is the watershed of northern subtropical zone and warm temperate zone. It becomes the boundary of the Southern and Northern China as well as the boundary of climatic zones.In September 1868, Germany geologist Von Richthofen came to China. After traveling around fourteen provinces of China in four years, he began effective geologic investigation at the southern foot of Qinling Mountains. He collected data, fossils and rock ore specimen, drawn topographic map, geologic map and stratigraphic profile. After returning to German, he published a famous geologic work—the five-volume China. Since then, Qinling, with real geologic meaning, made a sensation throughout the world together with the name of Von Richthofen. It wins worldwide fame with its uniqueness, outstandingness and miraculousness.
